Position Summary:

The medical assistant acts as a clinical and administrator support , to carry out proper clinical procedures to create a workplace of high quality clinical care and excellent patient experience,

Essential Responsibilities and Requirements:

Measure and document vital signs at our EClinical Works electronic medical record system

Carry out following daily tasks such as

• Assisting patient during registration process (patient demographic, insurance, consent to treatment, etc.)

• Clean exam room before and after patient visit

• Preparing patients before drawing blood

• Explaining blood draw procedures to patients and answering any questions about the process

• Following all health and safety protocols and procedures to meet industry standards and requirements

• Gathering medical testing or procedural materials, including needles, sample vials, blood storage and test tubes

• Verifying patient information with proper (at least 2) patient identifiers

• Maintain proper level of clinical supplies for all exam rooms

• Cleaning and sterilizing instrument as instructed

Accurately updating patient information in the organization’s database and electronic medical record system

Working closely with supervising physician or providers following their directions at all times

Special projects and other duties may be assigned as needed.

Specific Skills:

Blood drawing

Medication administration or Injection (permitted in NJ and other states)

Desired Experience/Desired Education/Other:

Skilled in clinical environment, especially in urgent care setting
