The position will partner with the Digital Technology team to develop, program, and test various projects dealing with the latest Mobile technologies. In the evolving Digital eCommerce space, new Mobile technologies appear in the market at a frequent pace. This changing landscape requires a versatile team that is in touch with the market, passionate about new technology, while at the same time able to understand the needs of our customers and how emerging technology can improve the customer experience.

  • This is a Hybrid Role- must be in either Houston or Chicago areas (or within commutable distance) for occasional onsite as necessary.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with Digital Technology to prepare and program various projects related to the latest Mobile technologies
  • Deliver across the entire app life cycle from concept, design, build, deploy, test, release to app stores and support
  • Possess a deep knowledge of iPhone & Android frameworks. Deliver innovative iOS & Android mobile experiences across the different functions
  • Understand back-end system/services to access when building out fronts for testing
  • Creatively architect and design programs to meet the goals and requirements of various projects
  • Quickly integrate and update projects
  • Contribute to the team effort by accomplishing project tasks on schedule and by interacting with other developers
  • Solutions are critically important and crucial to various front-end as well as server-based applications.
  • Provide technical insight on existing mobile platforms to improve performance, availability and utilization optimizations.
  • Perform research and development to evaluate emerging technologies and their potential to optimize the platform.
  • Evaluate, suggest and implement third party software as needed.
  • Make efficient use of source control and bug tracking systems
  • Review estimates for software development and delivery to ensure quality and accuracy
  • Unit-test code for robustness, including edge cases, usability and general reliability.
  • Prepare projects for hand-off and deployments as “proof concepts” move to production
  • Quickly adapt to changes and learn from field testing
  • Participate in software code reviews to ensure the creation of high-quality, robust code by all team members
  • Provide tier 3 support to all the Mobile platforms as and when required

Qualifications

Required

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems and/or equivalent work experience
  • 9 years of proven experience in application design, development, installation and modification of software required.
  • At least 12 months of leadership experience in managing multiple, large, multi-functional teams or projects, and influencing senior level management and key collaborators
  • 3+ years’ experience with iOS or Android development platforms
  • Experience developing native iOS Apps using Swift, Kotlin
  • Experience developing native Android Apps: Java, Kotlin(must) Android SDK and Android Studio
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills required.
  • Ability to juggle and manage multiple priorities and work
  • Basic knowledge of networking is a plus
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States for any employer without sponsorship
  • Technically support the team during incidents and system failures
