Commercial Banking Officer

Ballard Office, Seattle WA | Hybrid Work from Home (2 days per week in-office)

Monday – Friday 8:00 am to 5:00 pm | 40 hours per week

A Day in Your Life at Peoples Bank:

As a Commercial Banking Officer, you will be considered the primary business developer and relationship manager for commercial clients. Primarily leading with the commercial loan, you will be providing the full range of commercial banking products and services to our clients and refer non- commercial opportunities to your internal partners.

Your Primary Responsibilities Would Include:

  • You will be sourcing new commercial banking opportunities through an organized business development program by calling on prospective customers and broadening existing relationships.
  • You will actively participate in marketing programs, local community and networking events to identify opportunities, build relationships and develop centers of influence for referrals.
  • You will establish, maintain, and utilize internal relationships across all product lines to maximize the depth and effectiveness of existing and prospective commercial relationships.
  • You will be meeting with prospects and customers to determine needs via discussion, financial analysis, and utilization of research resources.
  • You will be negotiating and selling opportunities that are representative of customer need and consistent with the Bank’s credit culture and policy and meet or exceed profitability targets.
  • You will be preparing credit memos and loan approval presentation packages with the assistance of the credit support personnel.
  • You would ensure that all credit and business relationships are underwritten, processed, closed and booked according to policy and approval.
  • You will be managing a portfolio of commercial customers over the life of the loan, including ongoing reporting and monitoring, and ensuring delinquencies and maturing loans are paid, renewed, or cancelled in a timely manner.
  • You will support the Bank’s objectives for loan volume, portfolio diversification, asset quality and profitability.
  • You will stay current on market trends and competition.
Requirements:

What You Bring to the Team:

  • You have a bachelors’ degree in business, finance, economics, or related field, or have equivalent experience.
  • You have prior commercial lending experience.
  • You may have commercial underwriting experience.
  • You have experience with business development.
  • You work with minimal supervision and have excellent organizational, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • You have strong interpersonal skills including professional etiquette and service mentality.
  • You are skilled at business communication, both verbal and written.
  • You have a strong professional demeanor and high regard for confidentiality.
  • You can travel to other Peoples Bank locations and off-site for meetings and/or training as required.
  • You have the ability to model the Peoples Bank Mission, Vision, and Values.

Salary Ranges in Seattle, WA

Commercial Banking Officer I $79,975 - $119,962 annually

Commercial Banking Officer II $95,970 - $143,954 annually

Commercial Banking Officer III $115,164 - $172,745 annually

Commercial Banking Officer IV $138,196 - $207,297 annually

  • Placement in position level is dependent upon years of experience, portfolio size and composition, asset quality, and professional acumen. Salary within the position level may vary depending upon the county in which the position is located.
