Job Overview:

The Planner develops financial plans and forecasts that align to the merchandise strategy in order to maximize sales and profit. The Planner will partner in inventory optimization to ensure appropriate receipt and inventory levels. The Planner is responsible for using analytics to drive decisions to achieve sales, margin and turn and must ensure inventory is placed closest to the demand source.



Essential Functions:

  • Execute pre-season financial planning activities, including creation of all department and vendor plans, daily sales and forecast plans
  • Forecast daily sales and stocks by channel and location to support the Rolling Operating Forecast (ROF) process, ensuring appropriate growth rates and inventory is allocated at source of demand
  • Guide insight and analytics to merchants on strategies to drive opportunities and minimize risk by vendor
  • Ensure vendor plans appropriately reflect sales and margin opportunities
  • Advocate for location distribution of brands, items and expanded replenishment offerings.
  • Perform quarterly hindsight analysis


Qualifications and Competencies:

  • Bachelor's Degree from a 4-year college or university


  • Practices open and continuous communication, values keeping others informed, effectively presenting information in a clear, concise manner
  • Excellent leadership, facilitation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work across functional lines and at many levels
  • Ability to think creatively, strategically and technically
  • Knowledge of MS Office computer programs are required
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule based on department and Company needs
