Production Manager

Hours: M-F 8:00am – 4:30pm

This is a key position helping run a growing equipment manufacturer with sales both nationally and internationally. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with the right skill set including: knowledge of machine shop practice and manufacturing, excellent scheduling and follow up capability, leadership skills, excellent people and communication skills along with a comfort with manufacturing computer software. We are looking for a strong, driven individual who is comfortable in a leadership position with a strong manufacturing background.

The position entails these activities:

• Supervise all Production phases to assure high productivity and on time deliveries
• Plan Production Schedule to meet shipping dates and volume needs
• Review Drawings and determine the best manufacturing method
• Interface with engineering dept. to assure that drawings can be manufactured.
• Plan Inventory levels and re-order points.
• Determine best methods to manufacture parts and routing.
• Decide on Make/Buy decisions.
• Use manufacturing software for scheduling, costing and loading.
• Work closely with company president to assure manufacturing is in accordance with company plans and requirements.
• Find and qualify vendors and oversee their quality.

Required:

• Mechanical Engineer. MBA is a plus.
• 7+ years of hands on manufacturing experience preferably in machinery production environment.
• Must have previous experience managing others.
• 2+ years of estimating.
• Need to know how to read shop drawings and have experience in a shop like ours.
• Must be able to work with Shop Foreman and Purchasing and other Production Personnel.
• Work with sales department to meet their sales need.
