A postdoctoral research positions is available in the ILLIDAN Lab of the Department of Computer Science and Engineering (CSE) at Michigan State University.

The research project focuses on:

• Development of machine learning theories and algorithms with noisy label.

• Development of machine learning systems with distribution shift.

• Development of generative models and diffusion models for biomedical research.

The successful candidate will be expected to conceptualize algorithms and systems, write code, conduct numerical experiments, collect and analyze data, give presentations about the research, write papers and provide progress reports to the Principal Investigator, teach classes and mentor undergraduate and graduate students in the lab.

This position is a 24-month fixed term appointment. Renewal of position is based on funding and performance.

Minimum Requirements

PhD or equivalent degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering or related field.

Desired Qualifications

Experience in machine learning theories and algorithms, domain shift and adaptation in particular. Knowledge in Reinforcement Learning is an advantage. Excellent communication skills are essential.
