The purpose of the Revenue Integrity Analyst is to analyze and resolve the Epic Billing Edits and to analyze medical records that cross over several service areas. Error resolution requires a unique combination of clinical, coding, and compliance knowledge. This position supports the Revenue Cycle Integrity Auditor to ensure the expeditious resolution of claim holds, billing accuracy and the maximization of revenue in compliance with Medicare regulations.

Qualifications

  • College Diploma in a Related Field required. College Diploma in Healthcare preferred.
  • Two years of Hospital Billing required.
  • Experience in Healthcare Finance preferred.
  • One year of experience in Epic Applications preferred. Microsoft Office Suite experience required.
  • Coding Credential (RHIT, CCS, etc.) preferred.
  • Epic Certification preferred.
  • General knowledge of Reimbursement Regulations and Charge description master (CDM) and 837 and UB04 billing.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively with management personnel both verbally and in writing.
  • Must be detail oriented, independent, and a self starter.

Responsibilities

  • Review WQs daily.
  • Analyze WQ edits and determine appropriate action.
  • Assign edits to appropriate WQs and/or send emails.
  • Work with Revenue Cycle Integrity Auditor or Nurse Auditor – Senior to provide education to departments regarding appropriate documentation and charging to ensure compliance with billing rules.
  • Maintain process documents for revenue integrity procedures.
  • Analyze the effect of regulatory changes and amend charging procedures as appropriate.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of Medicare and other insurer’s billing requirements and work with Revenue Cycle Integrity Auditor or Nurse Auditor - Senior to implement changes in hospital revenue systems to comply.
  • Review departmental charging policies.
  • Maintain up-to-date documentation of charge rules by department.
