Job Description

iCallidus is seeking a Software Engineer/Developer Contractor Employee with Sencha experience to provide database design, support, ongoing maintenance, and participate as part of the developmental team to continuously develop the admin portal database. The objective is to maximize its fullest operational capability and desired potential for its intended users. To meet the scientific project planning and execution requirements, an in-house application was developed serving as an end-to-end full-service web-based workflow management, project financial management database, and a real-time solvency tool to meet the user needs. The database was developed by combining the functionality of several programs such as Microsoft Access, Visual Basic for Applications (VBA), Ruby on Rails, and ServiceNow applications. To achieve a fully integrated, web-based application and to maximize the optimal capabilities of the application, the tool combines the use of programming in Java and Sencha.

Responsibilties:

  • Provide database design, programming, maintenance, support, and development of the database.
  • Provide all support for project oversight, administration, and technical execution of the contract.
  • Help maintain daily the Admin Portal (NAP) to ensure fully operational capability for day-to-day operations. Current development relies heavily on user feedback to catch errors. The Contractor will debug coding and correct functionality based on user feedback and programming team prioritization using Java and Sencha.
  • Daily maintenance of operational and developmental back-end structures, which is server based.
  • Through means of telephone, email, MS Teams, or in person, provide daily, as required, support to NAP end-users in Boulder and Gaithersburg. Support shall be limited to Boulder or Gaithersburg operating hours. Respond via phone or email and timely resolution to request within the one business day.
  • Continue developing new capabilities for the NAP tool in Java/Sencha according to the priorities outlined by the development team. Code provides same or better functionality as current version and operates with little to no bugs.
  • Participate in scheduled meetings as part of a development team that will combine capabilities from other programs Offer expertise and suggestions where appropriate.
  • Provide a monthly progress report accurately outlining progress on tasks to the Contracting Officer’s Representative (COR).
  • Participate as part of a development team that will combine capabilities from other programs developed by other units into the tool aimed at providing users an end-to-end full service, workflow management, project financial planning, and real-time solvency tool.

Mandatory Requirements:

  • Bachelor of Science in Computer Science, Software Engineering/Computer Engineering, Information Systems, or related degree.
  • Three to five years of experience in database design, development, programming, and web-based application development.
  • Database Design and Programming in Java, Sencha, MySQL, Ruby on Rails, VBA, MS Access, and Service Now.
  • Experience with database hardware, database maintenance, debugging, coding, network operations, and web hosting.
  • Must be local to the Boulder, CO area.
  • Must be comfortable to work on-site and commute to Boulder, CO
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen or Lawful Permanent Resident.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • MS Access, VBA, Service Now.
  • Knowledge of system and API Integration.
  • Experience with the current NIST Admin Portal (NAP) is highly desirable.

Employment Type:

  • Full Time Employment
  • On-site location, Boulder, Colorado, with occasional visits to NIST office in Gaithersburg, MD, with some tasks may be completed off site.
