Volt is immediately hiring for Senior Accountant in Fort Lauderdale, FL
The Senior Accountant will work directly with the Controller to address accounting issues within critical general ledger accounts and take direct ownership and responsibility of assigned tasks and projects.
As a Senior Accountant you will:
- Perform monthly closing procedures, produce financial statements in a timely manner, prepare account analysis and general ledger account reconciliations. Speak with line managers to interpret financial results
- Gather necessary supporting documentation to ensure the accuracy of elimination and consolidation journal entries to the general ledger accounting system
- Preparation of accounting schedules for assigned balance sheet accounts. Conduct analysis and interpretation for significant accounting trends and variations within the trial balance for numerous entities.
- Perform in-depth analysis of financial statements, including subjective accounting areas (requires strong analytical and problem-solving skills)
- Analysis and update of sales and expenses review to ensure proper classification of expenses and capitalization of fixed asset expenditures.
- Review of purchasing activity from vendors to ensure reasonableness of any recorded variances and ensure all liabilities are properly recorded
- Other Ad-Hoc tasks to be defined
This is a fulltime, Direct Hire opportunity.
The ideal candidate will have:
- BA/BS in Accounting; Masters in Accounting, MBA and/or CPA license highly preferred
- 4-5 years plus general ledger accounting and/or public accounting experience; must have a solid understanding of accounting concepts
- Advanced Excel skills required, including the ability to use V-lookups and pivot tables
- Experienced in the use of mainstream accounting ERP software systems
- Ability to accomplish difficult tasks with minimal oversight and maintain a consistent level of accuracy in all assigned areas
- Must possess strong analytical skills and the ability to present solutions to difficult accounting problems
- Excellent communication, problem-solving and follow-up skills
Salary: $90,000 – $100,000 per year
- Pay range offered to a successful candidate will be based on several factors, including the candidate's education, work experience, work location, specific job duties, certifications, etc.
