Summary / Role Purpose


This pivotal role will enable Ansys critical digital transformation, working with key leaders and stakeholders to put your thumbprint on the future of processes and technology.The Senior Director, Enterprise Applications is the single point of responsibility for the Sales organization and Channel Partners when it comes to the technical implementation of the global CRM systems (Salesforce and Siebel). They will interface with the technical project leaders, the IT PMO, the executive leadership team, the head of global Sales, regional leadership, the System Integrator (SI team), and other key stakeholders. This position provides the necessary leadership, analysis, and design activities related to the development of customer applications.


Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Create & manage deliverables for the CRM applications with "to be" and "as is" solutions to better match targeted business outcome objectives. Ensure all components of the technical architecture are properly integrated and implemented.
  • Contribute thought leadership and technical strategy by collaborating with IT leaders, business leaders, and sales organization to identify strategic and innovative uses of the CRM technology to drive business growth and profitability.
  • Responsible for end-to-end technical assurance, technical governance, technical best practices, the reuse of technical assets, and the assignment of technical work.
  • Revisit current steering committee members and work with executive leadership to streamline decision making, drive effective timelines, accelerate time to value, enable execution and reduce project risk.
  • Day-to-day management of the technical teams, working closely with the Program/Project Managers to provide information around scheduling, risks, issues, changes, etc.
  • Recruit, develop, and lead a team of solution architects, business operations analysts, Salesforce developers, Siebel developers, QA Engineers, and .NET developers to advance technical solutions and propose solution alternatives within the context of the business drivers. Provide hands-on, expert-level technical leadership, coaching and mentoring to staff.
  • Manage resources, capacity, delivery, and performance of technical team.
  • Partner with the global product owner group to drive enablement and change management as systems are launched and operationalized; establish and update training programs and documentation for CRM technologies, processes, and best practices
  • Review project roadmap, build project timelines and collaborate with the sales organization on meeting the execution timing and key project activities. Keep projects on task and on time.
  • Maintain stakeholder engagement and alignment by providing clear communication, reporting and technical support throughout all stages of the project.
  • Work with sales organization and channel partners to develop, architect, and optimize customer applications and infrastructure that enable sales to scale globally.
  • Evaluate process/workflow enhancements to improve and optimize CRM performance. Ensure technical issues are resolved in a cost effective, efficient, and timely manner.
  • Monitor feedback from the product owner groups to improve processes and adoption of the global CRM systems.
  • Participate in CRM product review sessions to ensure compliance with the technical design.
  • Provide technical subject matter expertise for the technical delivery processes and implementation. This may include, but is not limited to, informal meetings with team members on technical strategy of project; attendance at status meetings with key stakeholders as requested: review and involvement in all technical CRM reviews.
  • Work with other key architecture roles to ensure the technology is being applied to meet the business objectives (Applications Architect, Data Architect, etc.)
  • Collaborate with the System Integrators to define configuration management processes and procedures for configuration items (code, configuration settings, etc.)


Minimum Education/Certification Requirements and Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree (technical field preferred)
  • A minimum of ten years of experience leading a CRM (Salesforce) implementation and adoption withing a complex global environment
  • Experience working with various levels of a sales organization to build trust and foster collaboration, bringing together the technical and operational side of CRM
  • Has successfully worked through ambiguity and uncertainty in a fast paced, ever-changing work environment
  • Has exhibited strong written and oral communication skills, experience presenting to leadership, overcoming objections, aligning teams and organization with excellent project management skills
  • Proficiency with MS Office suite of products, including Outlook, Word, Excel and Power Point
  • Expertise with Salesforce and Seibel development and its integrations/add-ons
  • Data Quality and Master Data Management experience
  • Working knowledge of Salesforce, Salesforce Pardot, Search (preferred Coveo), Cloud Data Warehouse and Analytics (preferred Snowflake)
  • Agile (Scrum) Development
  • Salesforce Administrator Certification
  • Salesforce Certified CPQ Specialist
  • Data analysis acumen
  • Application lifecycle management (ALM) and automated requirements management (ARM) tools
