The Technical Infrastructure team has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Technical Architect who will be key to our future success, providing leadership with guidance to make critical decisions that shape the firm's future.
What You'll Do:
A Senior Technical Architect at Edward Jones will work with leadership and technical SMEs across several pillars including cloud, infrastructure, automation platforms, observability, and support to ensure we align with our broader enterprise strategy, including Compliance, Security, Development, and Enterprise Architecture.
Here are a few of the key responsibilities that you will be a part of:
- Develop an understanding of current capabilities, technology strategy, and the alignment to business goals while considering the operational constraints of the IT organization.
- Serve as an SME across multiple domains to be able to synthesize architecture plans with an informed view of new and emerging technology solutions to enable digital transformation across the enterprise.
- Investigate emerging technologies and evaluate their potential impact to the firm by conducting research, identifying solutions, and making recommendations supported by a properly developed business case that includes technical feasibility, costs, benefits, etc.
- Develop and execute project/deployment plans that meet scope, time, cost, and quality requirements
- Quickly assess, mitigate risk, troubleshoot, and resolve technical issues using industry-standard tools including packet analyzers
- Develop processes and documentation according to the needs of the firm.
- Provide technical leadership and strategic direction in alignment with Digital Technology and firm objectives.
- Collaborate and influence others, including peers, leaders, and vendors
- Mentor and build the technical skills of others, and foster a strong and collaborative team environment

- Bachelor's degree or related work experience
- 15+ years of technology experience.
- 5+ years of experience as an Architect focused in the following areas:
- Azure Cloud including core network and foundational platforms
- Network, computing, storage
- Disaster Recovery and High Availability.
- K8's functionality
What Could Set You Apart:
- Knowledge of brokerage or financial company processes
Strong communication skills to be able to articulate complex content to both technical and on technical audiences all the way up to Senior Leadership
