The Strategic Partnerships and Contracting team develops practical and innovative ways to address some of GFiber's most complex business priorities. We advance these efforts by engaging and negotiating with internal and external stakeholders, and executing on deals that serve the company's long-term objectives. Role Description

As a Strategic Deals Manager, you'll serve as a trusted advisor across GFiber to transform business requirements into living procurement deals and partnerships. A team player at heart, you'll collaborate with the team, advocate best practices and roll up your sleeves to pitch in when it's all hands on deck. You'll work quickly while keeping your attention on the details and process requirements, and you'll tap into your problem-solving and relationship management skills, and your bias towards action to keep our engagements moving in a positive direction.

This role will focus on partnering with our engineering, security, and product teams to address emerging software development needs and new software services. You will be an excellent communicator, able to engage and influence at all levels within GFiber, a thoughtful problem solver and team player, and able to negotiate deals with counterparties at all levels of another organization or vendor. Your work will often span offices, business units and time zones.

In this role, you'll:

  • Develop, negotiate and execute agreements with key software-as-a-service (SaaS) providers, software implementation and development providers, technical services providers, and other vendors to support the development and growth of GFiber's business.
  • Support procurement efforts to identify pricing structures and key legal terms that best achieve stated GFiber goals.
  • Work independently and collaboratively to build and manage relationships with third-party executive management teams as a representative of GFiber.
  • Drive cross-functional coordination across GFiber including engineering, legal, finance and others, both during deal negotiations and following deal closure.
  • Provide support to engineering, security and product teams regarding vendor management issues and challenges; devise strategies to resolve challenges, gain internal support and negotiate resolutions.
  • Participate in and provide support for key business agreements across other program areas at GFiber as needed, including supply chain, marketing, operations and construction.
  • Summarize issues and articulate dense legal and engineering concepts to cross-functional teams, with the ability to influence internal and external stakeholders across all levels of management.
  • Work with attorneys to structure agreements that both creatively solve challenging situations and align to targeted deliverables and milestones.

At a minimum we'd like you to have:

  • Bachelor's degree and Juris Doctorate Degree.
  • 3 years of relevant work experience with partnerships, business development, strategy, and technology transactions.
  • 3 years of experience negotiating multi-issue commercial contracts and interpreting legal documents, working with attorneys to structure agreements, and managing multiple parties and clients simultaneously.
  • 1 year of experience procuring vendor services or representing clients procuring vendor services.

It's preferred if you have:

  • A business related Bachelor's degree or Masters degree and a Juris Doctorate from an ABA accredited law school.
  • 3 years experience negotiating complex SaaS and cloud services agreements.
  • 3 years experience operating within and across cross-functional teams (operations, legal, finance, etc.) to execute on initiatives.
  • Relevant experience in leading telecom or technology company or with leading telecom or technology company as clients.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to formulate and articulate technical, financial and value points with partners and internal teams.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is between $125,000-$183,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. As pay varies by location, your recruiter will share more about the specific salary range for your targeted location during the hiring process.
