DSHS TIA Test Analyst Lead

The Department of Social and Health Services (DSHS) and the Technology Innovation Administration (TIA) are looking for a Test Analyst Lead to coordinate training for new staff, providing senior-level consultation on testing and quality assurance methodologies and standards, coaches and mentors other system test analysts, and assists the supervisor in daily team operations.

You’ll have autonomy in performing the majority of your work on our QA team who support our Division of Child Support (DCS). You’ll apply technical knowledge of mainframe and web databases, graphical user interfaces, systems requirements development and IT project management to plan and execute software, web, and mobile testing and quality assurance for critical DSHS computer systems/applications including the Support Enforcement Management System (SEMS), SEMSWeb, and other associated applications.

  • Serves as a resource to Test Analysts regarding testing and quality assurance methodologies and standards
  • Coordinate training for new staff
  • Participate in identification of requirements and design
  • Identify the process and procedures for the test team.

Who We Want in This Role
Knowledge
Bachelor's Degree or equivalent in Information Systems, Computer Science, or related area
AND
Seven years of information technology experience such as consulting, analyzing, designing or programming computer software applications; directing projects; providing training or customer support in information technology; or administering or supervising staff who performed work in any of these information technology disciplines
OR
AA degree or equivalent in Information Systems, Computer Science, or related area
AND Nine (9) years of information technology experience as identified above
OR
Eleven years of information technology experience such as consulting, analyzing, designing or programming computer software applications; directing projects; providing training or customer support in information technology; or administering or supervising staff who performed work in any of these information technology disciplines.

Minimum of four years of experience with testing methodologies such as interoperability, black box/white box, system, integration, end-to-end, regression, stress, and performance testing with mainframes, client server applications, or web-based applications and their interaction with downstream systems.

Skills and Abilities
  • Knowledge of the Software Development Lifecycle, particularly software testing and defect tracking.
  • Strong written, oral and presentation skills to communicate with diverse stakeholders, division and IT management and staff.
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills involving a high degree of originality and independent judgment.
  • Ability to work effectively and efficiently as a team member, as a team lead/project manager, and to work independently.
  • Ability to identify critical issues and prepare recommendations for change in policies and procedures that increase efficiencies and meet department goals.
