POSITION DESCRIPTION

Title IX Solutions, LLC (TIXS) offers U.S. educational institutions a variety of Title IX consulting services and is looking to expand its pool of Title IX Investigators (contract). We pride ourselves in providing prompt, thorough, and impartial Title IX investigations. Our investigators have the practical skills to conduct a thorough and impartial investigation while remaining sensitive and compassionate. Their capacity to treat all parties with care and understanding is just as important as their ability to craft interview questions and draft reports.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Conduct investigations into allegations of sexual assault, stalking, dating and domestic violence, and other forms of sexual harassment in compliance with the Federal Title IX Regulations and Client Sexual Harassment Policies
• Communicate directly with client Title IX Coordinators, students and employees to coordinate investigative interviews and answer questions about the investigation
• Analyze reports, statements, and evidence to craft thorough and relevant interview questions
• Interview students and employees involved in Title IX cases
• Synthesize transcripts and notes to summarize interviews
• Write thorough and impartial investigation reports
• Organize reports, evidence, transcripts, and audio files in a logical manner
• Testify at client Title IX hearings
• Coordinate Zoom or in-person interviews, including management of required technology or travel logistics
• Develop and deliver Title IX training content on topics such as Title IX investigation procedures and interview practices in collaboration with the TIXS Director of Training

Required Skills and Abilities

• Confident conducting Title IX investigations in the K-12 or higher education environment
• Thorough understanding of Title IX and the role of an investigator
• Ability to conduct independent, neutral, and trauma-informed/empathy-based interviews
• Ability to write clear, concise, and impartial reports
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Detail-oriented and professional
• Ability to maintain confidential records
• Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively and build rapport with a diverse population of students, faculty, and staff

Desired Qualifications

• Experience with Title IX in the K-12, and/or the higher education environment
• Experience working at as an independent contractor, consulting firm, or law firm
• Up to date licensure as a private investigator or attorney

Education and Experience

• A bachelor’s (BA/BS) degree from an accredited institution plus five (5) years of experience in investigative work, including conducting investigations involving allegations of sex discrimination, harassment, and retaliation, including sexual assault, dating and domestic violence, and stalking

A Juris Doctorate (JD) or a master’s degree (in criminal justice, social work, or a related field) plus three (3) years of experience in investigative work, including conducting investigations involving allegations of sex discrimination, harassment, and retaliation, including sexual assault, dating and domestic violence, and stalking; and

• Work experience in a higher education or K-12 environment
• Knowledge and familiarity with applicable state and federal laws related to sex discrimination, harassment, and retaliation, including Title IX

Compensation and Location

Competitive salary, commensurate with experience.

This position can work from anywhere (remote) with the occasional need to participate in training sessions where requested.
