Job Description
The mission of Dallas Theological Seminary as a professional, graduate-level school is to glorify God by equipping godly servant-leaders for the proclamation of His Word and the building up of the body of Christ worldwide.
The Academic Advisor is responsible for providing academic advising and other related services to current students with the intent of helping them make informed decisions as they progress toward graduation.
Duties/Responsibilities:

Advise students in the ThM and MA degrees, including the MAC/MABC and MACP.

Run degree audits for current and graduating students.

Meet with current students to develop a degree completion plan specific to that student.

Process degree-specific paperwork for students.

Develop resources or conducts seminars that foster current student persistence and success.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Strong interpersonal skills to work with a variety of age-groups.

Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.

Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.

Possess a shepherd’s heart for God’s people.

Demonstrates godly character and discretion with sensitive student information.

Be flexible and willing to have their work interrupted.

Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
Education and Experience:

Bachelor’s degree
-
Current DTS student or DTS graduate (preferably the ThM, MAC, or MACP)

Previous Admissions or Advising experience is preferred but not required.
Physical Requirements:
-
Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.

Clear handwriting for degree audits and note cards.
-
Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
