Product Actuary

Position Summary

This position is responsible for performing a variety of financial and actuarial analyses, while managing a diverse group of product lines. This individual should have exceptional attention to detail and strong interpersonal skills.

Essential Functions

• Participate in activities directly related to: business strategy, product pricing, rate filings, reserving, experience analysis, financial projections, and data manipulation.
• Manage a small staff and report to the Chief Actuary.

Preferred Education and Experience

• Bachelor’s Degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, or related field.
• Associate of Society of Actuaries (ASA).
• Member of American Academy of Actuaries (MAAA).
• Five plus years in an actuarial role.

• Experience in one or more of the following product lines: Medicare Supplement, Debt Protection, Supplemental Health, Dental/Vision/Hearing, Long-Term Care, and/or Life Insurance.

• Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel, as well as data management and database applications.

• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills; strong rapport building and ability to work independently toward objectives with a sense of urgency.
