Job Description:

Associate Bridge Engineer – Boston, MA or East Hartford, CT.

Our Parsons Boston, MA or East Hartford, CT office is now hiring an Entry Level Bridge Design Engineer with a desire to work on bridge, road and highway projects that change the urban fabric of our community. Any relevant previous internship with bridge design is a plus!

Parsons extensive experience in this field, combined with your emerging engineering knowledge, will propel your career forward with opportunity for advancement with top performance. We need our engineers to be versatile, enthusiastic to work in highly flexible, team-oriented environment and who have exceptional communication, analytical and management skills. This position is open to new or recent graduates from a Bachelor’s of Master’s Degree program in Civil or Structural Engineering.

Responsibilities :

  • Bridge Design Engineer to design new and rehabilitated bridges in CT, Massachusetts, or the New England region.
  • Will ensure that the bridges are designed in accordance with current CT or Mass DOT manuals and specifications, as well as following accepted industry practices and procedures.
  • Deliverables will include steel, concrete and potentially wood specifications , estimating, quantity calculations, technical reports, plan details, and detailed engineering analyses. Will produce data sheets; review supplier drawing submittals; and perform technical bid analysis.
  • Will interface with CAD designers, other engineers and subcontractors.
  • You will increase knowledge and gain great experience with multiple span steel and concrete bridge designs in Indiana.

Requirements :

  • A 4-year degree in Civil or Structural Engineering from an accredited college is required.
  • Master’s Degree is desirable.
  • EIT ( Engineer -In- Training) certification is highly desirable.
  • Any bridge design and engineering experience from a combination of class instructions or internships is desirable
  • Familiarity with the following design software is also a plus:
  • Microstation CAD is desirable
  • LEAP Bridge Software (Conspan and RC Pier)

Salary Range:

$24.18 - $42.31
