Position Summary:
The Emergency Department Concierge serves as a representative of Crothall’s Patient Experience and Environmental Services Teams inside the unit’s Emergency Department.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Greet patients and visitors upon entry to the Emergency Department.
- Offer amenities such as blankets, water, coffee, newspapers, and tablet entertainment.
- Provide wayfinding services for patients needing to transport to other departments.
- Provide communication between clinical staff and Environmental Services.
- Cooperates and accommodates with Hospital Emergency Department Staff and Leadership.
- Provides quality customer service to customers by providing one-on-one attention to detail.
- Responds to calls for housekeeping problems such as spills and specific departmental needs.
- Maintain amenity area including opening and closing of nutrition items such as coffee machines, sanitizing of tables and chairs, sweeping floor area after daily use.
- Use communication skills between external departments if as deemed necessary.
- Demonstrate professionalism and empathy in a sensitive environment
- Demonstrates knowledge and efficient use of cleaning techniques, solutions, equipment, and tools.
- Performs all cleaning, floor care, and project assignments within area of responsibility or as directed by supervisor.
- Maintains high standards; works steadily at efficient pace.
- Interacts hospitably, cheerfully, and supportively with staff, patients, visitors, and work colleagues.
- Maintains equipment, tools, and storage areas in clean, orderly, and good operating condition. Respects hospital and company property.
- Responds rapidly and thoroughly to emergencies, special needs, spills, etc.
- Accepts suggestions and direction from supervisors and Hospital staff.
- Honors Department’s attendance, break, behavior, dress, and safety codes.
- Exercises good judgment while working around patients and visitors. Remains professional at all times.
- Takes initiative in rendering service or responding to needs.
- Assists other associates as necessary. Responds to direction as provided.
Education, Training and Experience:
- High School Diploma, GED preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience.
