Job Description

Kilgore Industries, one of the largest Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing subcontractors in the state of Texas is growing, and the key to this growth is having the best team in the industry! We are looking for an Electrical Apprentice to join our growing team in Austin. The Apprentice Electrician will be responsible for assisting the Journeyman Electrician in installing or maintaining a variety of approved wiring methods for the distribution of electrical light, heat, power, radio, and signaling utilization systems in existing or new buildings under construction.
PRIMARY DUTIES:
  • Interpret drawings and communicate drawings to apprentices
  • Utilize wiring diagrams and plans to complete the project per specifications
  • Shadows a Journeyman to continue understanding and learning the trade
  • Install conduit and pipes and run electrical conductors.
  • Install circuit breakers and other electrical hardware and terminates conductors.
  • Maintains a clean and safe working environment
  • Maintains constant communication with the Journeyman, Foreman, and Superintendent
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Must have a current Texas Apprenticeship Card
  • 1-year experience minimum, 2 years experience preferred
  • Must be a good communicator, verbal and written
  • Must be self-motivated, hardworking, and reliable
  • Must have general knowledge of electricity and the desire to advance
  • Must be able to pass E-Verify, background check, physical and drug screen
  • Able to work in fast-paced environments and accomplish tasks in a timely manner
  • Ability to regularly lift 25 pounds
  • Work well in a team environment
  • Electrical tools required
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish is a plus
