Overview:
Marin Community Clinics, founded in 1972, is today, a multi-clinic network with a wide array of integrated primary care, dental, behavioral, specialty and referral services. As a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC), we provide vital health services to almost 40,000 individuals annually in Marin County. The Clinics regularly receive national awards from the Health Resources and Services Administrations (HRSA). Physician is responsible for providing medical diagnosis, treatment services and managing quality health care services to patients of Marin Community Clinics. The Physician provides quality care to patients consistent with his/her training and expertise, and appropriate to the ambulatory care setting provided.

Will consider NP, PA with at least 3 years of experience.

Qualified candidates may be eligible for up to $50,000 hiring bonus if working full time status; prorated if working part time. This position is eligible for relocation assistance.

Responsibilities:
  • Provides and manages direct patient care, including physical examinations, evaluations, assessments, diagnoses and treatment for a specified patient population.
  • Prescribes pharmaceuticals, other medications, and treatment regimens as appropriate to assessed medical conditions.
  • Refers patients to specialists and to relevant patient care components as appropriate.
  • Follows established departmental policies, procedures, and objectives.
  • Maintains a professional relationship with staff and patients.
  • Performs other related and/or necessary tasks to achieve clinic goals and objectives, as directed by the Medical Director.
  • Care team responsibilities as outlined in the Care Team Patient Center Medical Home Procedures.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
E ducation and Experience:
  • Valid and unrestricted license issued by the Medical Board of California to practice medicine.
  • Board certified or Board eligible in specified area of medical specialty, Family Medicine/DO.
  • Medical Doctor with three 3-5 years of directly related experience which may include residency in a directly related medical
  • BLS Certifications is required.
  • Current registration issued by the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) allowing the prescription of drugs.
  • Prior experience working in a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) a plus.
  • Prior experience working in community health environment a plus.
  • Epic Electronic Health Records (EHR) experience highly desired
  • Knowledge of legal and ethical standards for the delivery of medical care.
  • Knowledge of relevant drugs and non-pharmaceutical patient care aids and ability to prescribe dosages and instruct patients in correct usage.
  • Knowledge of community medical diagnostic and patient care services in area of medical expertise.
  • Knowledge of current principles, methods and procedures for the delivery of medical evaluation, diagnosis and treatment in area of expertise.
Required Skills and Abilities:
  • Bilingual English/Spanish is highly desired.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills in English.
  • Must maintain Continued Medical Education (CME) as required for certification renewals.
  • Ability to observe, to assess, and to record symptoms, reactions, and progress.
  • Ability to see an average of 20 patients per day for full time shift.
  • Ability to maintain quality, safety, and/or infection control standards.
  • Ability to work both independently and in a team environment.
  • Ability to work in a fast paced clinic environment.
  • Flexibility and ability to work occasional Saturday shifts as needed.
Physical Requirements and working conditions:
  • Prolonged standing and walking
  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.

Covid-19 Vaccination and Boosters Requirements: All employees are required to be fully vaccinated for COVID-19, including "health-care" required boosters as a condition of employment, subject to limited exemptions. New employees are required to provide proof of being fully vaccinated for COVID-19 and boosted before the first day of employment. If you completed your primary series, received an original booster and it has been more than 2 months from that booster dose - it is recommended, but not required that you receive the Bivalent booster.
