HUMAN RESOURCES GENERALIST

Sonoran Roots is looking for an experienced Human Resources professional to join our team in the role of Human Resources Generalist. This is a full-time, exempt salary position, regularly scheduled Monday - Friday, with additional days and hours worked as needed.

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES – HUMAN RESOURCES GENERALIST:

  • Collaborate with various departments to understand their requirements, duties, and desired qualifications for specific vacant positions.
  • Follow up with hiring managers after the interview process to assess successful placements and collect feedback on unsuccessful placements.
  • Ensure compliance with equal employment opportunity (EEO) and other related employment laws and regulations.
  • Maintain health and welfare plans, including managing enrollments, changes, and terminations.
  • Process required documents through payroll and insurance providers, ensuring accurate record-keeping and appropriate deductions.
  • Welcome newly hired employees and manage the onboarding process, ensuring a positive experience and a smooth transition into their roles.
  • Audit data and set up employee profiles in the HRIS system, as well as assist in coordinating, preparing, and distributing employee documentation.
  • Prioritize and manage workload to meet critical deadlines and ensure efficient HR operations.
  • Maintain compliance with all HR processes and maintain a high level of confidentiality.
  • Assist in the processing of terminations in the HRIS system.
  • Schedule meetings and interviews as requested by the HR Director.
  • Responsible for addressing day-to-day employee relation issues, providing guidance and support to employees and supervisors, conducting investigations, and ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures.
  • File documents into appropriate employee files, ensuring proper record-keeping.
  • Manage OSHA logs, ensuring accurate recording of incidents and compliance with safety regulations.
  • Prepare and submit EEO-1 reports, ensuring accurate and timely reporting of workforce demographics.
  • Assist in managing FMLA and ADA paperwork, ensuring proper documentation and compliance with related regulations.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned

PAY AND BENEFITS:

  • $55,000 + (dependent on qualification and experience).

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS (Required):

  • Must be 21+ years old.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain an AZDHS Facility Agent Card.
  • At least two (3) years of Human Resources experience, showing progressive growth in skills and development.
  • Attention to detail and ability and willingness to follow instructions.
  • Able to sit or stand for extended periods.
  • Reliable attendance and communication – show up to work when you say you will and do what you say you will do.
  • Quick learner and willing to be coachable and flexible with work tasks.
  • Criminal background checks will be performed; most marijuana-related crimes will not negatively impact an application.
  • Bachelor’s degree

ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS (Preferred):

  • Experience in the cannabis industry (formal or informal).
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Working understanding of human resource principles, practices, and procedures.
  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
  • Ability to function well in a high-paced and, at times, stressful environment.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and Google Suite.
  • Experience with Greenlink HRIS a plus.
