Job Description

As a member of the Clinical Informatics and Interoperability Team, you will be responsible for the coordination of critical clinical data initiatives aimed at driving best-in-class solutions. You will be responsible for the overall execution of clinical integration to strategic provider organizations and expanding our Epic Payer Platform (EPP) initiative. As an Epic Analyst, you will collaborate with business stakeholders and Agile teams, communicate with external provider organizations, provide Epic expertise, execute build, perform integration testing, and manage deliverables to ensure successful implementations for health system connectivity. You will coordinate activities across diverse departments and ensure that contributions across different teams are aligned and integrated as part of overall delivery.

The Essential Roles and Responsibilities of this position are:

  • Collaborating with key internal and external stakeholders to gather and analyze business requirements to design and implement robust clinical data solutions.
  • Ensuring cross-team participation with external partners, and engaging specialized expertise from across Epic COE, IT Delivery, and other internal partners.
  • Leveraging Epic EHR knowledge and experience in clinical applications, HIM, and other modules to become a Subject Matter Expert for Clinical Data Exchange (CDE) and other EPP Features, utilizing your expertise to support various business areas and initiatives within CVS Health and Aetna.
  • Leading project efforts to implement EPP and CDE with multiple external provider organizations simultaneously, and then building on those partnerships to implement other EPP Features.
  • Performing configuration within our Epic application, conducting testing efforts with external partners, and managing the implementation processes.
  • Identifying and mitigating potential project risks.
  • Resolving project issues utilizing analytical, technical, and managerial skillsets.
  • Constructing presentations and delivering project information to stakeholders and partners.
  • Communicating complex technical subjects to technical and non-technical audiences

Pay Range
The typical pay range for this role is:
Minimum: 60,300
Maximum: 130,000

This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors. This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above.

Required Qualifications

To be considered for this exciting opportunity, candidates will need to have a minimum of 5 years of professional experience in a clinical data exchange role, healthcare IT professional role, or other related experience.

You will also need to have demonstrated experience in the following:
  • Experience working with Electronic Health Record (EHR) applications and/or clinical data sets.
  • Experience leading projects and processes, including coordinating activities across diverse departments to ensure that contributions by different teams are aligned and integrated as part of overall delivery.
  • Ability to quickly develop knowledge and understanding of new applications, workflows, and underlying data sources.
  • Ability to work with business users and technical resources to understand project requests and translate requirements to the final project deliverables.
  • Ability to create, manage, and deliver project artifacts (such as project timelines, status reports, requirements documentation, and test plans).
  • Experience across the full project lifecycle (discovery, requirements definition, design, build, testing, and deployment), and ability to operate within Agile methodology.
  • Baseline discipline experience as a business analyst, project specialist, technical/applications specialist, test analyst or similar role.
  • Ability to identify, assess, communicate, and resolve complex problems and facilitate issue resolution and risk mitigation.
  • Knowledge of clinical interoperability and/or external clinical data exchange.
  • Understanding of clinical interfaces using healthcare standards (HL7, CCD, CCDA, HISP, Direct Messaging, and/or HIE platforms).
  • Knowledge of regulations and standards related to the management and security of patient health information (PHI).
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, including communicating with project teams during meetings and via email to manage deliverables and keep project timelines on track.
  • Meticulous attention to detail with ability to organize information effectively and accurately.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Epic EHR experience (certification or proficiency) in HIM/ROI, Care Everywhere, and/or Payer Platform strongly preferred.
  • Epic EHR experience in clinical modules also preferred.
  • Epic EHR certification in Healthy Planet module a plus.
  • PMI PMP or Agile SAFe certification a plus.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools (Outlook, Word, Excel, Visio, Project, PowerPoint).
  • Ability to navigate and leverage collaboration tools such as Teams and SharePoint.
  • Ability to balance competing priorities in a fast moving and changing environment while remaining organized and focused to meet implementation timelines.

Bachelor’s Degree in related discipline or comparable experience
