About Us:
Sol Dog Lodge/Hearts at Ease is a Arizona nonprofit located in Tucson. Our mission has always been to keep dogs in their homes with the people who love them. We are not a shelter or a rescue ‑ we support the community in many ways. We provide services to the community that strengthen, protect, and support the bond between people and their dogs when recognizing and respecting both ends of the leash is most needed.
For the past 5 years we have been providing dog respite services to families in crisis and providing training for services dog to people with disabilities. We are seeing an increase in the need for these community services and we are looking for someone who loves building programs and really connects with the human and animal services organizations to strengthen partnerships to help more people in need.
RESPONSIBILITES
· Create and implement program plan, foster protocols, safety plans and all related documentation.
· Organize, coordinate, and oversee day-to-day programs and activities.
· Recruit, manage and maintain a robust dog foster and program volunteers.
· Work directly with customers, families, and support system staff to ensure smooth entrance into the program. This may include on-going case management support and final follow-up.
· Assist in coordinate and complete both people and animal intake.
· Match foster families with appropriate foster families.
· Community Outreach and marketing activities, educational programming and events.
· Assist in the development and manage budgets for the programs.
· Perform various duties and other duties, as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
· Have excellent communication skills and be able to interact with the public, fosters, volunteers and staff in a positive and respectful manner.
· Ability to manage multiple priorities, works under pressure and maintain a professional appearance and attitude with staff, the public and volunteers.
· Ability to work with all types of dogs and their behaviors and temperaments. Excellent dog handling skills.
· Have and be able to maintain a clean driving record.
· Must be able to pass drug screen and background check.
· Ability to lift 30 pounds and up.
Ability to obtain a State Finger Print Card.
· Ability to work weekends, evenings, and Holidays.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's degree and wo years' experience in animal program management or related administrative setting. In lieu of a degree, two additional years of relevant experience may be acceptable. Bilingual is a plus.
