Position Description Summary

APT Research is hiring a part-time on-call Explosives Safety Site Planner to site plan for multiple DoD and/or commercial installations simultaneously while directly interacting with multiple levels of DoD and commercial site planning customers. This person will also direct junior employees in the use of various site planning tools and methods. This position can be performed remotely or in Huntsville, AL.

Required Experience/Education:

• At least four years of direct experience using the Explosives Safety Siting (ESS) software tool.
• Explosives safety background.
• Demonstrated ability to multitask by working on Explosives Safety Site Plans for multiple concurrent projects.
• Extensive experience with US DoD Quantity-Distance (QD) site planning.
• Good people skills are required, as this person will be expected to interact directly with customers and working group participants, as well as with other APT personnel.
• Demonstrated quality writing & editing skills for reports and other communications.
• Must be a self-starter, with the ability to work independently and as part of a cohesive team.

Security Clearance Requirement:

• A SECRET clearance or the ability to obtain a SECRET or TOP SECRET clearance is required.

Preferred Experience:

• A technical background is highly desired, preferably engineering
• DCMA site planning experience
• NATO site planning experience

Travel Requirements:

• Requires ability to travel domestically (within the U.S.) <15%
• Must have passport for international travel <15%

Physical Requirements:

• Requires sitting for extended periods of time at a workstation / desk

Other Essential Functions:

• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, make rational decisions, and to exercise good judgement
• Work attire must be appropriate for the position and must not impose a safety risk / hazard to the employee or others
