JOB SUMMARY

The Actuary Analyst will support modeling development related to solutions for planning and Asset Management Liability (ALM) of the large suite of Life and Health insurance products. This role will also summarize statistical data by applying mathematical knowledge to policy active life reserves, unpaid claim liability, trend analysis, rate formula, forecasting, and premium analysis.

  • Assist with various model development requests through data gathering and analysis of output for reasonableness and accuracy.
  • Support the production of cash flow testing (CFT) and other projection related tasks, including sensitivity tests and risk-based capital(RBC) projections.
  • Implement model changes to support projection efforts for Statutory and Tax reporting.
  • Reconcile in force models to recent experience.
  • Participate in experience studies, analytical efforts and preparation of summary reports to present to higher management.
  • Prepare schedules of statistical metrics, financial statements, premiums, reserves and benefits.
  • Document applied methodologies, underlying assumptions and source of data.
  • Performs other related duties as necessary or assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Excellent interpersonal skills. Ability to communicate technical and complex topics. Effective written and verbal communicate skills.
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
  • Knowledge of MS Office Suite (Excel, Word and PowerPoint) – SQL, VBA, other software programing is an advantage.
  • Actuarial software experience with MG-ALFA is strongly preferred.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in actuarial science, mathematics, statistics or related field. Combination of education and/or relevant work experience may be accepted in lieu of degree.

Experience

  • One year of business-related experience or relevant internship experience.
  • Completion of actuarial exams required.
