About us

The Velvet Cellar is downtown Denver's newest wine and cocktail restaurant. We are a new start-up concept that focuses on the guest experience through polished service, a comfortable environment, and premium beverage and dining selections. Our food menu will change monthly or as needed based on the pulse and direct feedback of the community.

We are looking for Bartenders to fill out the rest of our Front of House team for our Grand Opening in Fall 2023 (ideally September). You will deliver a high-quality menu and provide excellent customer service. The other responsibilities of this position include being mindful of costs and waste while still achieving maximum guest satisfaction. We focus on efficient and streamlined operations while maintaining high levels of productivity and superb quality. We want The Velvet Cellar to be a source of tremendous pride for our team!

Compensation

• Hourly will be $14.29 per hour plus tips and bonus (if profit targets are achieved)
• We expect our tips to average or exceed $300 per night per bartender/server

Hours of Operation

We plan to be open:

• 4 PM - 10 PM, Tuesday through Thursday
• 4 PM - 11 PM, Friday and Saturday
• Noon - 5 PM on Sunday
• Closed on Monday

Responsibilities

• Create and serve cocktails, beer, wine and food
• Continuously educate yourself on spirits, bar techniques, recipes, and wine
• Assist in designing and curating a premium and dynamic cocktail menu
• Maximize guest satisfaction and service standards
• Coordinate operations to set up for success
• Assist with oversight and suggest improvements
• Ensure cleanliness and safety regulations
• Minimize mistakes, expenses, and waste

Experience

• Prior experience as high level bartender with mixology skills
• Extensive restaurant and bar knowledge, with ability to remember and recall ingredients and dishes to inform customers and staff
• Strong interpersonal and customer service capabilities
• An inherent understanding of a variety of spirits, an urge to deliver a premium experience, and passionate desire to continue learning
