Assists nursing service personnel with a variety of patient care activities and related services necessary in caring for the personal needs and comfort of patients. Assists with personal hygiene, takes vital signs, and changes bed linens. May serve and collect food trays, provide for between-meal nourishment, and clean, sterilize, store, and prepare other supplies. Has knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field. MINIMUM

EDUCATION:

High School Graduate or equivalent.

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE: 1 year’s experience as a certified Nurse Aide or Patient Care Tech in acute care

REQUIRED CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSURE: Possession of a current state or national nurse’s aide certification or a certification as a phlebotomist, medical technician, patient care technician, medical assistant, EKG tech or in another related field.

REQUIRED COURSES/ COMPLETIONS (e.g., CPR): BLS –Obtained through approved American Heart Association Training Center.
